These sites offer some form of training in aviation topics. They are not specifically practice test sites. Some are poor and some are very good.

AOPA Air Safety Foundation - Excellent free online courses on a variety of topics. Most take about an hour to complete (can be completed over multiple sessions) and many qualify for the FAA Wings program.
PrepareToTest - Fee based - Demo - Test prep for Sport, Private, Commercial and AMT exams.

How It Flies - The pilot's reference to aircraft.
Flight Ref - Clean and easy to navigate. Contains a number of useful links for student pilots as well as downloadable FAA documents.
The Finer Points - Many free podcasts on a wide variety of aviation topics. Excellent production.
Pilots Web - Assortment of online text based articles
See How it Flies - Extensive online text from John Denker
Whitt's Flying - Huge quantity of text on just about any aspect of flying imaginable from Gene Whitt. He meanders a lot and his writing style is poor, but if you dig, you'll probably find what you were looking for.
NASA's Virtual Skies - Tutorials in number of aviation areas, but not really a ground school for pilots.
